Nandlalji Kedia

Shri Nandlalji Kedia was born in a prominent business family of Shri Gajananji Kedia of Chirawa in Vikram Samvat 1972 (calendar year 1915). Shri Nandlalji Kedia was very pious from his early childhood and was a staunch devotee of Lord Hanuman. He spent his early years in Chirawa. Shri Nandlalji was married to Shrimati Geetadevi and was blessed with a son Shri Balkishan.

Sometime during the 1940’s, He moved to Mumbai and settled down in Santacruz, a suburb in Western Mumbai. He renounced his home and family and started staying at Kalbadevi with an intent to serve the poor and the needy. It was at the behest of Lord Hanuman, that he started worshipping “Paramhans Pandit Shri Ganesh Narayanji" and founded “Paramhans Shri Ganeshji Pandit Memorial Trust” in 1968, in his memory. In 1978, he also founded, one more trust by the name of “Paramhans Ganeshji Charity Trust”, also with the objective of serving the poor and the needy. He was a very simple and straight forward person and did not seek any kind of recognition or award for whatever he did.

Due to his divine powers, any prophecy made by Shri Nandlalji would invariably come true. People of Mumbai slowly recognized this and developed faith in him and started following and worshipping him. They started seeking solutions for all kinds of problems, from him. They were also very fortunate to see a lot of miracles which could be attributed to him.

Shri Nandlalji was the key inspirator for setting up free drinking water kiosks (pyaaus) across India. Today these trusts established by him on a very small scale have become large and highly respected institutions in themselves.

Shri Nandlalji attained Samadhi in Vikram Samvat 2040 (calendar year 1983).
